Labour Day Weekend 2007 / Engagement Weekend!
I know this is almost 1 month old now but better late then never! So our road trip itinerary for the Labour Day weekend was as follows:
Friday Aug. 31st - drive from Vancouver to Kamloops
Saturday Sept. 1st - drive from Kamloops to Mt. Robson Provincial Park (about 30mins from the Alberta border)
Sunday Sept. 2nd (1 year anniversary of living in Vancouver!) - Mt. Robson to Saskatchewan Crossing (about half way between Jasper and Banff)
Monday Sept. 3rd - Saskatchewan Crossing to Vancouver
A total of about 2000kms which Tom ended up driving - due to my lack of standard transmission driving knowledge :)
It was an amazing drive! The most impressive was between Mt. Robson, which is right near the entrance to the Rockies, and then the Glacier Expressway, which is located between Jasper and Banff.
Now for the "Engagement Weekend" part: We got engaged on Sept. 2nd at the base of Mount. Robson after a night of camping beside a beautiful glacier lake. On our hike down, we took a Power Bar break on a little bridge over the glacier lake we stayed at. Tom asked me if I wanted to go back to Mt. Robson with him in 10 years from now and I replied : "Well I can't make any promises..." in which he replied "Well then. Do you want to get married?" to which I replied "yeah ok" with a mouth full of Power Bar! So classy ;)
Anyway, here are the pictures from our extremely long weekend road trip: PICTURES
