Did we bring Montreal with us to Vancouver?....

Since we've moved to Vancouver we've seen BC have droughts due to lack of rain, then record amounts of rain in November to the point that the water is not drinkable (we have to boil our water because the reservoirs are contaminated) and now we're experiencing record amount of snow! It has been snowing here since Friday night and has not stopped. We now have about 20 cm (8 inches) of snow on the ground! This is even considered a snow storm in Toronto! Unfortunately the temperatures is going to be fluctuating around 0C, which means the snow is expected to turn into ice tomorrow...eeps! We took pictures yesterday and then a few this morning from our balcony.

First ski 2006 at Whistler/Blackcomb

We went skiing at Whistler/Blackcomb for the first time ever last Saturday! It was amazing! It was snowing so much and there was so much powder on the runs. I have to say our first experience wasn't so great - Tom's new skis weren't as good as he thought, his goggles fogged up completely so he couldn't see anything, we were skiing in a cloud most of the time so we couldn't see anything! We couldn't tell if there was a mogul, flat or powder in front of us - it was a surprise at every turn!
Anyway, we had a nice dinner and found a great B&B and on Sunday we drove back to Vancouver where Tom returned his skis and got some new ones! We're going to give it another try next weekend!
